About Program:
PCI, India is a technical partner of the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission. PCI is providing technical assistance around integrations of Health & Nutrition (HN), Gender and Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) and Decentralised Renewable Energy interventions with community platforms promoted by UPSRLM. UPSRLM has promoted a community based Decentralised Renewable Energy Company Prerna-OJAS. Prerna OJAS was the outcome of million soul initiative supported by Ministry of New & Renewable Energy. After the Million Soul project got over, Prerna-OJAS a private limited company came in the business of manufacturing and supply of Solar Based products and implements DRE initiatives with rural communities. PCI, India has collaborated with Prerna-OJAS for providing technical assistance for supporting Prerna-OJAS for improving its systems, business operations, management, marketing, branding, business development and design, development as well as implementation of DRE pilots for ushering green revolution in Uttar Pradesh. The technical support will enable Prerna-OJAS in creating 1 lakh Green Jobs for rural women leading to economic empowerment of Rural Women.
Position Summary:
The Manager-Procurement and Supply Chain will play a key role in building a procurement strategy plan for the Prerna OJAS company in the solar and renewable energy sector. This individual will be responsible for end-end supplier management, while conducting cost and risk assessment and ensure quality control and compliance. The incumbent will also be required to manage the tendering process and coordinate logistics. The incumbent will report and work in close supervision of CEO-Prerna OJAS and Associate Director-HN & WEE.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Analyze procurement trends and recommend improvements.
Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to ensure the quality and reliability of materials.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers for long-term partnerships.
Supply Chain Operations:
- Oversee inventory management and ensure the timely supply of materials.
- Work closely with production, logistics, and warehouse teams to align supply chain operations.
- Optimize supply chain workflows to minimize waste and improve efficiency.
Cost & Risk Analysis:
- Conduct cost analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Assess risks in the supply chain and implement mitigation strategies.
Quality Control & Compliance:
- Ensure all procured materials meet technical specifications and industry standards.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct audits when necessary.
Logistics & Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution of materials.
- Collaborate with logistics providers to ensure timely deliveries.
Tendering & Documentation:
- Manage the transparent tendering process as per company guidelines.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and compliance documentation.
Tasks as and when required depending upon the program’s requirement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors / Master’s in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial) or Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration from a reputed university.
- Additional certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience
- Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in procuring items for solar power units
- Candidates with proven ability to manage large-scale procurement projects within budget and timelines will be preferred
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
- Expertise in vendor negotiation and contract management.
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement software (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
