
Mr. Syed is the Senior Manager – Partnership Coordinator for the Transitioning Health and Nutrition Integration with the SHG Platform initiative at PCI India.
With over 16 years of experience in public health and social development, Mr. Syed has made significant contributions to implementing and supporting large-scale health programs. He has provided technical support for policy development, capacity building, monitoring, and documentation. His professional journey includes working with esteemed organizations such as UNICEF, CARE India, and the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.
At NHSRC, Mr. Syed played a pivotal role in supporting flagship programs such as the ASHA initiative and Ayushman Bharat – Arogya Mandir (Health and Wellness Centers). These programs have significantly strengthened primary healthcare delivery systems and community platforms, including ASHAs, VHSNC, and Mahila Arogya Samitis.
Prior to joining PCI India, Mr. Syed served as an “Associate Specialist” with the HSTP, where he successfully implemented the HPSR Fellowship program. This initiative fostered capacity building among mid-career researchers and strengthened India’s health policy research ecosystem. Mr. Syed holds a postgraduate degree in Sociology from Kanpur University.
