Transformative Action for Rural Adolescents’ (TARA) is a pilot project initiated by PCI, Gap Inc. and Center for Catalyzing Change (C3) in Sanjhauli and Nokha Block of Rohtas, Bihar.
Through this project, we aim to transform the lives of adolescent girls by strengthening their ability to aspire and take steps towards a healthy and productive future. Our pilot intervention seeks to reach and transform more than a thousand unmarried adolescent girls between the age of 14 years and 18 years.
Our Bihar model is leveraging the JEEViKA platform for an integrated, multi-pronged approach to empower adolescent girls and young women. We have designed our approach to improve the skills and knowledge of a girl, strengthen her agency and decision-making ability, shift social norms, and foster support from the family and community, thereby transforming her life meaningfully.
