Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in social work, development, or related fields preferred
  • 1–2 years’ experience in community mobilization, outreach, or livelihoods projects
  • Familiarity with Bangalore’s urban and peri-urban communities is desirable
  • Proficiency in Kannada (mandatory); knowledge of Hindi/English is an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to women’s empowerment and sustainability

About the position:

The Community Mobiliser will play a central field-level role in identifying and engaging women waste workers, informal sector actors, and potential entrepreneurs for participation in the program. This position is project-based and will focus on outreach, on boarding, and support throughout the implementation period.

Community Outreach & Mobilization

  • Identify and engage potential participants, especially women from SHGs, rag-picker community and informal waste workers
  • Organize and facilitate community meetings, door-to-door visits, and awareness drives
  • Mobilize participants for training, enterprise formation, and e-waste unit operations

 Support for Implementation

  • Assist in the documentation and onboarding of program beneficiaries
  • Conduct, Support and facilitate business and technical training sessions, set-up of collection kiosks/refurbishment units, and field events
  • Conduct follow-ups with participants and ensure regular engagement

 Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with local NGOs, informal sector leaders, recyclers, and waste picker groups
  • Act as a communication bridge between the community and project team

 Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain mobilization and participation records and other relevant project documentation
  • Share regular field updates, feedback, and learnings with the program team

About the Project

E-Rozgar is PCI India’s innovative and inclusive response to the e-waste challenge. It is a women-led, community-driven initiative that envisions transforming the e-waste sector into a space of dignified work, entrepreneurship, and environmental responsibility.

The project focuses on establishing six e-waste collection and refurbishment units in Bangalore, run by women entrepreneurs and supported by trained field teams. These units will act as hubs for safe collection, segregation, data-secure disposal, and upcycling of electronic waste, integrated within formal recycling networks.

Recruitment Process:
1. Applications will be shortlisted based on the specified criteria mentioned in the Job Description.
2. The process could also include presentation of the assignment.
3. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend one or more rounds of panel interview/s.
The complete process usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. Those moving to the final round of interviews will be hearing from the People & Culture team. We prefer in person meetings but in case of location distances, we are happy to meet you virtually.
