- Qualification required: Bachelor’s degree in commerce/finance. Master’s degree in finance/ MBA/ CA is desirable.
- Experience required:
- Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience especially working on various donor grants
- management, generating various excel based reports.
- Microsoft business central experience would be preferred. Working knowledge of other
- Accounting Software would be an added advantage.
- Good understanding and knowledge of various donors related grants management and
- financial reporting, analysis etc.
- Experience of working in the finance function of an INGO, multi-cultural environment
- Experience in handling UN/ CSR grants will be an added advantage.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of accounting and budgeting in INGOs/ FCRA.

Position Description:
Assistant Manager – Grants, shall be responsible for management of grant programs which are being
implemented by Project Concern International in India in close co-ordination with Programme Team.
S/he shall also be responsible for the development and implementation of our Grant Management
System (GMS) in line with various donor requirements.
S/he will take lead responsibility in ensuring that funds disbursed to the PCl’s sub-contractors are
properly accounted for and are in line with donor contractual agreements and project deliverables.
S/he will also contribute during the preparation of various proposals, especially in development of
competitive and accurate budgets, as part of the new business development process. S/he will work
towards improving overall organizational effectiveness, quality and impact.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and assistance for all aspects related to PCls grant management
- system Including sub-awards at the state level.
- Responsible for the effective implementation of PCl’s grant management system. Collaborate
- with Program teams in planning the activities, ensuring that no funding or implementation
- gaps occur. Ensuring that timely financial reviews take place.
- Work closely with the program and new business development team to formulate competitive
- and accurate budgets for new proposals and ensuring that it is in line with strategic directions
- of PCI and specific work plans. Also ensure that donor guidelines/ instructions are adhered to
- while preparing the budgets.
- Assist in the negotiation of the terms and conditions of the Grant agreements (wherever
- there’s scope), its renewals, amendments etc in coordination with supervisor and national
- grants team.
- Assist in Developing grant proposals.
- Facilitate a session on financial matters and donor compliances in a Grant Rollout Workshop
- aimed at informing budget and other stakeholders including implementing partner
- organizations at state level.
- Participate in the joint review of programs/ projects carried out by Program & Finance.
- Support providing a dashboard to the SMT members highlighting costs and ratios thereby
- advising state leadership on productivity metrics and cost inefficiencies.
- Assist in grants setup in ERP including preparation of budget upload file.
- Using ERP provide support to Grants Team in preparation of expense and budget data for
- analysis purposes.
- Maintain database of Grants and Contracts financed out of grants.
- Ensure that timely alerts about grant compliances are shared with the team.
- Track incomes for assigned grants and highlight challenges, if any.
- Keep track of Grant-wise budgetary allocations made through PRs.
- Support Grants team in preparation of their Project related MIS.
- Work closely with Finance Team and ensure that expenses are charged to correct codes.
- Review monthly expense allocations in line with grants management principles.
- Provide support during donor due diligence.
- Provide support for Salary allocation workings and track monthly staff actual allocations
- against planned.
- Assist in Sub award management – ensuring all processes are followed, handling their closeout
- Provide support for smooth and timely grant close-out processes.
- Prepare donor reports and verify them for accuracy and ensure compliance with donor
- Share monthly dashboards with the Senior management at state and highlight challenges, if
- Prepare fund requests for donors.
- Developing tools or excel based tracking for various purposes/internal reports.
- Support during various external/internal/donor audits.
- Maintain proper documentation of all grant’s agreements and other related documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure sound grants management in
- the organization.
