  • Location: Hybrid with work requirements either form PCI Lucknow office or Government Department.
  • Salary Range: Competitive salary commensurate with experience

  • Qualification required: MBA in Agribusiness, Masters in Social sciences, Development Studies, public policy, social policy, economics, and related fields from reputed colleges like IIM, ISB, IIT, IIFM, IRMA, JNU, TISS, University of Hyderabad, Azim Premji University etc.
  • Experience required:
  1. Experience of close to 10 years in consulting or International NGO’s (INGOs) in livelihood promotion interventions particularly supporting large scale Government interventions at national or state level. Experience of embedded working with Government.
  2. Experience of supporting monitoring and evaluating livelihood & poverty alleviation activities for impact assessment.
  3. Experience of providing training and support on livelihoods interventions and tools.
  4. Experience of facilitating liaising with skill building institutes (both public as well as private/CSR)
  5. Experience of facilitating periodic reviews (includes preparation of analytical power point) by Government departments.
  6. Demonstrated experience in coordinating and partnering with different key stakeholders like Government departments, local level, academic institutes and CSRs.
  • Skill and Competencies:
  1. Strong communication skills including academic writing and large data visualization. Preference will be given to candidates comfortable with writing in Hindi and English
  2. Flexibility in working arrangements.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support in development of livelihood strategies in collaboration with Government Departments, implementation partners, local academic institutes and CSRs for the identified ultra-poor households which shall include livelihood promotion, financial inclusion and social empowerment.
  2. Responsible for documenting and facilitating strategies for livelihoods projects and its enhancement and facilitating the implementation of livelihood improvement initiatives.
  3. Facilitate in identification of effective livelihood pathways to help targeted ultra-poor households.
  4. Support in designing both farm and non/off farm-based livelihood options and strategy for the identified ultra-poor households in the context of their capabilities, geographies and potential for CSR support.
  5. Support in analysis of the value chain of selected livelihoods projects, along with identification of potential challenges and appropriate mitigation strategies.
  6. Facilitate in mapping Government schemes related to skill development, employment generation, and financial assistance, and facilitate access to these schemes.
  7. Stay updated on the latest innovations/trends in the livelihood sector and ensure the integration of best practices in the relevant intervention geography.
  8. Support the Government in terms of regular review of the livelihood projects during meetings and ensure collaboration with other interventions and programmes of GoUP.
  9. Assist in creating analytical presentations, concept papers, and other materials for impactful communication utilizing various media such as text, images etc.
  10. Undertake periodic field visits towards ensuring adequate coordination with partners and support in preparation of human-interest stories from the field.
  11. Any other task as assigned by the supervisor.

About the Project

PCI India has been providing Technical Assistance (TA) support to Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) for a technology driven poverty alleviation, social protection, financial inclusion and livelihoods planning initiative. The role requires to closely work with senior leadership of Government, coordination with multiple welfare departments and implementation partners. Further, the project also entails collaboration with Academia and Corporate Houses for ensuring sustainable poverty alleviation for the identified ultra-poor households.

Recruitment Process

  4. The process could also include presentation of the assignment.
